about

6 million files to die – I chose 25. Artless Beats Vol. 1 is a selection of unreleased instrumentals as well as a few vocal tracks that never made it to any album. Some of the tracks date back to the a very early period of beat making, the oldest track “Someday, Somehow” actually is from 2002. More recent tracks like “Lazy Sunday” (made in 2017) may still be used for an upcoming project in 2022. However, the majority of tracks will never be available anywhere else.

Among the 25 songs, of which 11 are hidden bonus tracks, this compilation features an unreleased remix made for Ceschi’s “Broken Bone Ballads” LP (2015) as well as a bunch of beats made for a follow up to the “One Man Band Broke Up” LP which never have been recorded to. Others were tracks that did not make it on my solo album “For Better, For Worse” or were simply made “at random”.

Some of these tracks are available on a very limited C-40 Cassette which was originally announced (and already sold out!) via the campaign for “The Artless Cuckoo Vol. II” vinyl EP almost two years ago. Back then, the tape was said to be limited to only 10 copies. But I think it was fair to extend the quantity from 10 to 20 as I still found a few more blank tapes. The tape was available only to those who had pre-ordered the digital release.

The artwork should symbolise human-induced danger the earth is facing.
